Purpose of Mentoring Providers Council:

The Mentoring Providers Council (MPC) is designed to be a network of support and learning community for mentoring program Coordinators, Program Managers, and Directors. VMP knows managing a mentoring program can at times be a lonely endeavor and aims to convene program leadership throughout the year to foster conversation, collaboration and to lift up the good work being done in the mentoring field state-wide.

The MPC represents a cross-section of mentoring organizations varied in type, location and purpose in the Commonwealth and D.C. It is staffed by the program staff at Virginia Mentoring Partnership.

Responsibilities of the Mentoring Providers Council (MPC) include:

  • Regularly attend MPC meetings
  • Share knowledge through active participation in meetings or by leading group discussion
  • Give feedback to VMP on their Core Functions to increase the quality and quantity of mentoring relationships for youth
  • Support mentoring throughout the Commonwealth and serve as an advocate for mentoring
